Captain Jeff
The captain served aboard the Bering Star and M/V Impala in the waters off Alaska for more than a decade before purchasing the Viking.
When not at boat shows or working on brasswork, the captain now inspects and certifies commercial marine derricks.

First Officer Doug
As an avid sailboarder, Doug's knowledge of coastal wind patterns is very helpful should the Viking unexpectedly burn through all of its hundreds of gallons of fuel.
When not busy windsurfing Hood River or skiing at Snoqualamie Summit, Doug can often be found in Seattle or Korea, where he works for K2.

Chief Engineer Matt
Matt's role monitoring the cooling needs of the beer supply is critical to the well-being of the vessel's crew. There are also Otter Pops and steaks in the ship's deep freeze that he periodically checks as well.
When not attending Dudley Manlove Quartet jam sessions or debating the merits of the Sony Playstation versus Nintendo 64 , Matt can often be found in Seattle, where he works in the Boeing 747 aircraft design group, waiting for new projects to arise.

Supply Officer Mea
Much of the ship's stores for this voyage have been procured under Mea's direction - only Otter Pops seem to be in short supply, which is Nils' fault.
When not in Vermont stocking up on maple syrup, Mea can be found working and playing in and around Seattle.

Web Guy Nils
Although not playing an essential role as crew member,
Nils does bring a summer's worth of experience managing a marina in Long Island Sound to the voyage. He still remembers how to tie a half hitch and "walk" a dual prop vessel out of a slip.
When not travelling to the Northwest, Nils can often be found in San Francisco, where he designs web sites.
