Perfect cruising conditions allowed the voyagers to settle into their orderless continuum of activities... from sunning on the top deck to sleeping off the previous day's food poisoning. Cap'n Jeff, however, shouldered the heavy weight of a crucial navigation decision: the playful currents and sinister tide rips of Deception Pass, or the dangerous shoals of the Swinomish Channel. To navigate Deception Pass meant waiting until 6:30pm, and since time waits for no-one, the hell if we were waiting for it! The Whaler was put on a short leash, and the Viking eased between the buoys into the shallow channel. Next stop, LaConner,WA.
