Another several hours of cruising finds our travellers ready to spend more of their colorful Canadian Dollars. They put into port at the south end of quiet Salt Spring Island - a short ferry ride from Victoria, but a world away.

The opportunities for consumerism turn out to be far outweighed by the options for outdoor recreation. Doug and Mia grab their bikes and are off to tame the wilds of the island's interior. Nils heads off on a walk around the harbor, while Captain Jeff is content to stay near the Viking and catch up on some maintainence. Matt? He saunters off in the direction of the marina deli for a sports magazine and a sandwhich.
